I'm sad

There's a cat who's been crying out here all day. He looks half starved. He just cries and cries. Someone gave him food and water, but I think he's too far gone to eat. I called Animal Control.
There's a little boy whom I haven't seen in a couple of months. My neighbor and I conferred, and I have decided to call CPS.
Sometimes I try to pretend the world is not out there, but then it comes to me.
