I have a friend who I have failed. Over the 10 years I have known her, have I failed her by not listening? No. Have I failed her by not giving her lots of advice and information? No. Have I failed her by not using tough love? No. Have I failed her by not explaining things that should be common sense? No. Have I failed her by not putting the truth in front of her eyes? No.
I have failed her by not having her committed to a mental institution.
